Inspiring and empowering young women to explore their future in STEM
The Sun and Truth Foundation has launched Preparing Young Minds (PYM), a youth initiative designed to empower and equip young people with tools to thrive through mentorship, innovation, and community engagement.
On May 17, 2025, the Foundation launched its first pilot workshop under PYM, the Big Sister STEM Chats Workshop, in partnership with Les Scientifines. The event connected girls aged 12–17 with women leaders in STEM, creating a space for inspiration and mentorship.
Speakers included Jennifer Côté (Opalia), Delina Efrem (Modulari-T), Nivatha Balendra, and Hela Benaissa (Dispersa), who shared their journeys and insights through TED-style talks.
The day concluded with a Micro Science Expo, featuring interactive exhibits from Unity, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Eli Health, LCCHS Robotics, SAT, and Les Scientifines students, sparking curiosity and hands-on learning.
The Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to all partners, speakers, and volunteers for making this empowering event possible.
