Meet the 2025
Sun and Truth
Grant Recipients
The Montreal organizations working to strengthen
communities and support long-term well-being.
In September 2025, the Sun and Truth Foundation launched its first Sun and Truth Grant. The Foundation received applications from organizations at the forefront of combating some of the most pressing issues related to the environmental crisis, community development, and the overall health and well-being of Montrealers.
We were fortunate to have the opportunity to learn about the impactful work of over 30 organizations serving as the backbone of many vulnerable Montreal communities. Above all, meeting teams committed to building a world where all living things can thrive filled us with hope for the future.
Among the many incredible applications we received, three charities were selected as Sun and Truth Grantees. We were deeply moved by their missions, their dedication to the communities they serve, and we were especially impressed by their leadership and teams.
We are proud to present the 2025 Sun and Truth Grant recipients:
Les Scientifines
Les Scientifines promotes STEM education among girls aged 8 to 17 from equity-deserving communities, helping them develop critical skills and pursue future opportunities. Girls, particularly those from under-resourced neighbourhoods and minority backgrounds, remain underrepresented in STEM fields. Without accessible, engaging educational support, many young girls miss opportunities to build confidence and pursue studies in science and technology.
How the grant helps
The Sun and Truth Grant will support the continuation of hands-on STEM programming, allowing Les Scientifines to reduce barriers to participation and maintain high-quality programming. With this support, young girls from underserved communities will benefit from increased access to engaging STEM education and academic support.

Les Maisons Transitionnelles O3
Les Maisons Transitionnelles O3 provides transitional housing and wrap-around support services to young, vulnerable parents, aged 16 to 30, and their children, helping them build stability and independence. Young parents facing significant socioeconomic barriers often lack access to safe and affordable housing, stable support systems, and the resources needed to break cycles of poverty and instability.

How the grant helps
The Sun and Truth Grant supports the continuation and expansion of core programming, allowing Les Maisons Transitionnelles O3 to reduce gaps in service delivery and increase access to individualized support for residents.
With this grant, young parents and their children benefit from more consistent, high-quality services, including housing, childcare, and skill-building programs. This improves young parents' ability to achieve personal, educational, and career goals.

La Traversée (Rive-Sud)
La Traversée (Rive-Sud) provides free specialized mental health and psychosocial support to children, youth, adults, and families affected by sexual violence. For over 40 years, the organization has worked to reduce barriers to care and support healing, stability, and long-term well-being for survivors of trauma.
Children who have experienced sexual violence often require specialized, trauma-informed care. Growing demand and increasingly complex needs can lead to long waitlists and interruptions in care, negatively affecting the healing process.
How the grant helps
The Sun and Truth Grant will help expand La Traversée (Rive-Sud)'s specialized services by increasing dedicated clinical hours for psychotherapy and psychosocial support, while strengthening the organization’s clinical capacity through greater involvement of qualified professionals. As a result, more children will be able to access timely, specialized, and trauma-informed care, improving continuity of care throughout their recovery.
