Highlights From the 5th Annual Sun and Truth 5K

5th Annual 5K Race Supports 26 Charities With Over $26,000 in Donations

May 4th, 2025, marked the 5th annual Sun and Truth charity race. Every year, the race brings together people from all walks of life to run in support of a charity dear to their hearts. This year, we welcomed a record-breaking 156 runners to Riverside Park in LaSalle. Adults had the chance to challenge themselves with a 5K race, while kids took part in the 1.2K race.

Beyond the physical challenge and friendly competition, the race is all about supporting Canadian community organizations and charities that are making a real difference in the areas of community development, nature, and wellness. This year, the foundation raised funds for Tyndale St-Georges’ “Nature for All” program, which strives to ensure all members of the Little Burgundy community have access to enriching experiences in nature. Through fundraising and matching donations, the Sun and Truth Foundation was able to raise $10,700 for Tyndale.

In keeping with tradition, the foundation donated to the chosen charities of the top three finishers in each category for both the 5K and 1.2K races. To amplify impact, the foundation drew 12 names from the list of runners in attendance and made donations to their selected charities as well. In total, the Sun and Truth Foundation donated $15,500 to 26 different charities across Canada, in addition to the $10,700 raised for Tyndale.

After working up an appetite, participants enjoyed St-Viateur Bagel lunch boxes, delicious pizza slices from Brasserie des Rapides, and freshly squeezed orange juice courtesy of Lufa Farms—a well-earned reward for showing up for themselves and for the community.
